29,056, up over 4000 cases so I guess we are not seeing a down turn yet. Uganda needs our help now to Shelter in place

We are fine here at home. Juergen works at the home office. He has the stress of deadlines. He puts in a full day, just from home. Philip has exams coming up, so he studies. Sarah also has a mountain of homework. Jessica gets bored so I drive her about 3 hours a day. We listen to the audible book of Narnia. My energy level is pretty low. I have not gotten much done apart from doing dishes, some cooking. I ordered a nebulizer. My brother suggested it. It should help loosen stuff up in my lungs. I have never had asthma, but this is what I imagine asthma feels like. The cough is almost gone. And I really am improving. I hope to get some work done in the garden today. My chief concern at the moment is my women at Suubi Teen MOPS in Uganda. They are afraid. The government has imposed many new restrictions on them. There were 9 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Kampala yesterday. They are trying to totally lockdown this city with 15million people. It seems wise on the outside. But most of the people live in slums. They are overcrowded. They have no place to store food. They cook on fire stoves that require wood charcoal. Most have to boil water 2 hours a day or they will get typhoid fever or cholera. They all pay about 50 USD a month for their shacks. And if they do not work, they will be homeless. And how do you stay home with your children 30 days in a one-room shack anyway? I hear people joking about...should I hang out in my living room or kitchen tonight. We all have internet and TV with hundreds of options of things to watch and learn. Their churches are closed by government order. 100% gated shut. No online services. No emergency food bags. No one has health care. The hospitals are 100% inadequate for the task. The one good thing is the airport is shut. All the rich people and government officials are forced to face the same fate as the poor. If they require treatment they can not fly to some other location. We pray they realize the extent of damage corruption has on the country. Right now we need 35 people to step forward and give us 100 USD to sponsor one of our teen moms. They are forced to stay home for a month. They can not work. We need to support them. I hope it is only for one month. But I need 35 sponsors to give 100 USD or 85 Euro each. The price of everything has gone way up. I also want everyone to pray for UN intervention. Our women have water filters for clean water. We will do all we can to cover them at this time. But there are 16 slums in Kamala where millions of people live on around 2 USD a day. There is the Ugandan military on the streets that beat people to make them remain in their homes. But people are going to starve, and suffer from sicknesses caused by dirty water. They have no soap. Our women managed to hand out 3000 bars of soap in the past month to the poor. They gave all they had. But now they need to shelter in place. And they need our support to do that. We accept PayPal and GoFund me. and direct bank deposit. 1966 cases and I can not go home

There are over 300 new cases of coronavirus in Germany.  The death rate is very low.  Everyone wants to credit our great health care system.  I think in the end, it will be the age of the people who got Coronavirus.  Italy has a very old population.  They got hit very fast and hard with this.  We have had time to get ready.  And I told a friend of mine today, Germans still sweep the sidewalks every week.  They do what is right for the entire society, not just what is right for themselves.  That is a general statement.  Naturally, there are exceptions.  I read about a man in Berlin who went to a night club even after hearing he had the virus.  16 people got the virus from him.  So some will care more about themselves and their convenience, and others look at the greater good. About 3 weeks ago I began to see this happening.  The spread of the virus I mean.  And I had to weigh if I should travel to America to my m...

12327, up 3000 cases in 24 hours. They have the virus in Uganda

Everything is closing up even tighter.  Here in Germany, they are setting up hospitals in convention halls.  They want to separate the normal hospital business with the Coronavirus cases.  The growth is sobering.  Only the more difficult cases get to be tested.  So I do not qualify for a test.  I have little energy and get easily winded.  My cough is lessening. I have no fever.  If I have the virus, I will probably never know.  But we are really isolated at home.  We only take a daily drive with Jessica. I have enough food in the house to last for weeks.  Juergen goes out to buy bread.  But mostly we are home. Yesterday I did get Philip to mow the lawn.  I did some work on the window boxes.  Today I need to plant onions and strawberries.  Sarah began reading the first book in the 7 book Narnia series.  Juergen is giving SAP at least 12 hours a day.  I honestly do not see much of him.  After he fin...

96,092 cases and changing the world

I saw this sign on Facebook.  It made me laugh out loud.  and Juergen nearly cried laughing when I showed it to him.  If you do not get it, the Coronavirus they believe came from a person eating a bat.  Or an animal that had been infected by a bat. That person contracted the virus, and they spread it to another person...and here we all are.  Locked up in our houses, economy ready to crash. If you want to change the world in a good way, we are trying to support 35 teenage mothers and their 46 kids in this time of lock down. They can not earn money (by law unable to sell their hand crafts) so we are trying to help them pay food and rent. And they stay busy making beads, bags and soap to be sold in the future gift shop. Check here for more details. HOW TO SUPPORT TEENAGE MOTHERS SURVIVE THE COVID-19 LOCKDOWN IN KAMPALA.   Nicole took my desk, and Juergen is taking the entire office to do his work. I set up a table for myself in my bedroom. T...
